10 Video Game Remakes We NEED On Next-Generation Consoles

3. Blood Omen: Legacy Of Kain

Cult hit Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is the first game in the vampire action-adventure Legacy of Kain series, which quickly gained a fiercely loyal fanbase. After a few mainline entries, the series went on ice in 2003 where it has remained since.

Blood Omen is pretty much the perfect candidate for a remake. A PlayStation 1 game, it is now especially dated and clunky. Despite this, the world-building and lore of the title (which would later be developed on in sequels) is truly unique and deserves to be revisited.

The original had a top down perspective, so bringing this to next gen with a third person camera more reminiscent of the later titles would offer a whole new angle on the game. Both in story telling and gameplay. Its fantasy setting is one of a kind and revisiting the world with next gen tech backing it would be unbelievably atmospheric. Not to mention seeing its characters fully realized.

With not having a sequel in over 15 years, it’s clear the developers are unsure about the future of the franchise. We know Crystal Dynamics has the potential to make great games, so a remake of the original would allow them to see if there is a market for future instalments, and allow long time fans to return to the world of Nosgoth.

Perhaps, this leads to future games too...
