10 Video Game Reveals That Make You Wish You’d Given Up Instead
3. Celeste Is The Assassin - Mirror's Edge
As previously mentioned with the Resident Evil one, never assume someone's really gone until you see it for yourself.
The same goes for games that only have about a handful of established characters, as it really narrows down who could come back to bite you in the arse. Even more telling, don't make your mysterious, masked assassin wear clothing that gives it away, either.
Yet that's what Mirror's Edge tried to pull on us when they introduced us to Faith and Celeste, the only present female runners in the first game. Honestly, it was insulting when the assassin first popped up, that anyone who's ever seen a Bond film could (and would) have figured it out.
I don't EA were going for Tinker, Tailor... levels of intrigue and espionage when they wrote this, but at least give us a bit of credit when it comes to suspense. They could have made her "assassin outfit" a bit more androgynous to keep us guessing, but nope.
The only other Runner we really encounter who tries to warn us off near the start of the game? We're not falling for that one.
