2. The Alien Has "Two Brains" - Alien Isolation

In the scariest game of hide and seek, doesn’t it feel strange how the Xenomorph almost nows Amanda Riply’s every move? Sometimes it seems impossible, right?

This is because the titular alien’s A.I. has two "brains". Two that are in a constant battle against one another.

One knows exactly where the player is hiding at all times, whilst the other is none the wiser, but is constantly hunting. Fighting for control sometimes feels like a toss-up for which one wins, but this is what makes the experience of Alien Isolation so unique and natural.

If you think about it, the Xenomorph does need to have another trick hidden away when that tiny mouth just won’t cut it. Cutting out this feature would make some levels far too easy. Just throw a noisemaker in one direction and walk off.

We can all just be thankful this was leagues above the Alien A.I in Colonial Marines, now that game was a dumpster fire.
