Whether it's high-end cosmetic items to make your character stand out in style or exclusive rewards for picking up a special edition of a game, video games are full of unlockable content for players to acquire.

Many of these items can be acquired through sheer hard work and grinding to obtain the in-game currency necessary to make the purchase. Other times, a small amount of real money can be spent on DLC packs to get the desired item. However, not every unlock is as straight-forward to get your hands on.

Sometimes these items aren't just difficult to get your hands on, but they can also come at a substantial cost, with the price often reflecting the rarity of the item in question.

These extra slices of content can range from in-game commodities that cost a staggering amount of money to exclusive rewards from collector's editions that are no longer in general circulation. They can even be DLC packs that were given a ludicrous price tag from developers.

Whatever the reason for their cost may be, you'll need to have very deep pockets if you wish to pick up any of these extravagantly priced pieces of unlockable content

10. Buckingham Luxor Deluxe - Grand Theft Auto Online (2013)

Throughout the years since its release, Grand Theft Auto Online has continued to add high-value items for successful criminal entrepreneurs to spend small fortunes on. From multi-million-dollar penthouses, underground bunkers, and even an orbital canon, there’s no shortage of pricey items to shell out for.

The most expensive commodity in the game so far is the Buckingham Luxor Deluxe.

Added as part of the Ill-Gotten Gains update in 2015, this private jet is the ultimate height of extravagance. Plated in solid gold on the outside and featuring luxurious seating inside with complimentary champagne and cigars for passengers to indulge in during the flight, this plane certainly looks like it costs a lot of money.

With a staggering in-game price of $10 million or a Megalodon Shark Card costing £59.99, it isn't cheap.

An ostentatious design is all that players get for their money here. With no weapons or extra armour included, this plane isn’t a particularly useful purchase that will take hours of grinding heists to afford without throwing down real-world money for.

The only benefit of owning this extraordinarily expensive vehicle is to flaunt your phenomenal wealth to everyone who sees the glint of gold in the sky.
