When Mono joins forces with Six (the protagonist from the previous game), Little Nightmares II follows the pair as they navigate their way through a nightmarish city filled with grotesque creatures.

The youngsters' biggest threat, however, is a mysterious, long-limbed figure known as The Thin Man, who resides behind a door within the television signal that's affecting the city's inhabitants.

After a tense showdown with the villain near the end of the game, Mono emerges victorious. However, in a shocking twist, Mono is subsequently betrayed by Six when she lets him fall to the depths of the signal tower. Now stranded in the pit, Mono sits on a chair as a time-lapse shows him transform into The Thin Man.

This cryptic finale implies that Mono was the main antagonist the entire time, with the signal tower somehow trapping him in a time loop. Although Mono eventually bests his future self in their fight, the game's final moment strongly hints that this villain will continue to terrorise Mono while maintaining their influence over the city.

While being unbeatable makes this villain that much scarier, Mono's inescapable fate adds a touch of tragedy to the menacing conclusion.
