10 Video Games NO ONE Can Agree On
7. Deadly Premonition
Open world survival horror game Deadly Premonition is so damn divisive it even earned a Guinness World Record for being the most critically divisive survival horror videogame of all time.
But the general player response was no more concrete - this stupendously weird, almost intentionally alienating slice of digital David Lynch is game that basically challenges you to enjoy it.
The gameplay and graphics already felt somewhat dated in 2010, the controls are clunky as hell, the dialogue and voice acting are highly questionable, and the tonal shifts are intensely offputting.
But as a bizarre gumbo that clearly has no desire to court mainstream gamers, Deadly Premonition also lives on as a cult curio - a game whose rough edges are charming and whose unique atmosphere is quite intoxicating in its own right.
To some it's a masterpiece, to others it's borderline unplayable trash, and then there are those who consider it The Room of video games - a rare game that's genuinely so bad it's good.
Whatever you make of it, though, most will surely agree that Deadly Premonition isn't easily forgotten.
