10 Video Games NO ONE Can Agree On

6. Starfield

Days Gone Decan
Bethesda

Starfield was undeniably one of the most anticipated games of the past decade, but Bethesda's sci-fi action-RPG ultimately generated a dog's dinner of online discourse regarding its merits - or apparent lack thereof.

There was considerable, vocal disappointment regarding the game's story and characters, as well as its limited exploration of space, and also its repetitive gameplay elements - especially that godawful powers-acquiring mini-game.

Despite the tendency for Bethesda's games to keep players rapt for dozens, even hundreds or thousands of hours, many reported bouncing off this one in relatively short order.

But Starfield absolutely has its loyal fans, who have embraced it as another immersive, atmospheric addition to the publisher's war chest, even if most will agree it's far from their best work.

It's certainly a game which suffered from intense over-hype in the years leading up to release, in large part because Bethesda announced it more than five years before launch.

Compare this to Fallout 4, which was only officially announced five months before release and was still a stonking success.
