10 Video Games NO ONE Can Agree On

5. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

The Legend of Zelda franchise has a number of divisive games - The Wind Waker famously parted the fanbase like the Red Sea due to its cel-shaded art style, though in more recent years it's been received considerably more positively.

Yet the same can't really be said for Skyward Sword, which remains the most contentious mainline entry in the beloved franchise.

The mandatory motion control scheme for the original Wii release is one thing, but many fans found Skyward Sword too linear while also getting off to a slow start.

Others, however, found the motion controls charming and unique, while lauding the game's streamlined focus.

The 2011 Switch re-release certainly made it more accessible to players who loathed the original motion controls, but as a package Skyward Sword is still considered a series-worst title by as many as deem it a series-best.

Without its status as a debated odd duck of the franchise, though, follow-up The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild would've probably been quite different.
