3. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Capcom have gone on record recently in stating that one of their policies going forward is to utilise their back catalogue in the form of remakes and remasters, which has been shown by the release of Resident Evil HD Remaster and the announcement of a remake for Resident Evil 2.
Following that, it seems only logical that Resi 3 is the next in line for a full remake. The first in the series to have a single protagonist (the impractically-attired Jill Valentine) was the best of the trilogy to fully display a zombie-infested Raccoon City and the lengths that the insidious Umbrella Corporation would go to in order to cover the outbreak.
The story also was the most notable for displaying the worldwide reach of the shady pharmaceutical company, as side characters such as Nicholai and Carlos showed that Umbrella was an established international power, making them seem all the more dangerous.
The game also featured one of the most terrifying villains in gaming in the form of Nemesis, the Terminator-like figure that stalks Jill throughout Raccoon City, armed with a rocket launcher and a relentless attitude. Having this creature remade with modern technology could rob a whole new generation of any hope for pleasant dreams.
