10 Video Games That Deserve A Remake

The harsh, cerebral and terrifying experience charting James Sunderland’s excursion into the worst tourist town ever is rightfully considered one of the best horror games of all time.

James’ psyche is laid bare by the demonic town, meaning that all of the obstacles he encounters are manifestations of his own personality, even if the protagonist is not aware at first.

Lured to the resort by a letter from his (supposedly) long-dead wife, this setup was used ingeniously to create a twist on the “multiple endings” trope. Rather than depending on single choices at specific moments in the narrative, seemingly unimportant aspects such as examining certain items, average health level of characters and even how the player treated NPCs would dynamically adjust which ending was shown at the games’ conclusion.

Before James could unravel the mystery as to why he was in the town, he would be confronted by one of the most iconic adversaries in video game history: the monstrous Pyramid Head. The mere sight or sound of this gargantuan terror was enough to make most players run for cover and call for their mothers.

Unfortunately, modern gamers may be put off by the dated graphics and voice acting, but a concept and story this good deserves to be experienced by as many people as possible, especially in the wake of the tragic cancellation of Silent Hills.
