10 Video Games That Prove 2010 Was The Best Year Ever
5. God Of War III
God Of War III was, confusingly, the fifth game in the God Of War series, and is now seventh in the overall chronology. However, that’s pretty much the only confusing thing about God Of War III, with the rest of the game unleashing the power of Kratos into the players’ hands.
This title had a huge range of enemies inspired by Greek mythology, to go along with its huge scale and huge sales. Combining excellent combo style combat and enjoyable, creative platforming - with an array of puzzles thrown in - God Of War III pushed the boundaries of everything possible in the adventure genre.
The cutscenes are some of the most cinematic and visceral of the era, although the story itself certainly isn’t up to the standard of the 2018 release. However, if you’re prepared to set aside lofty expectations of plot and just enjoy the sheer brutality God Of War serves up, this is definitely the one for you. In a way, it’s the antithesis of previous entry Heavy Rain, which just goes to show the scope of quality games in 2010.
