2. Too Far. Too Soon. - Inscryption

Inscryption is a deck-building roguelike in which you play cards against a mysterious serial killer keeping you hostage in his forest cabin. The game features plenty of bizarre and surprising events, one of which is triggered when your captor notices you’re beating him a little too quickly.

The first time you play Inscryption, its mechanics and random events can seem pretty overwhelming. Once you get the hang of it, however, your first match with Leshy can easily be done in just a few minutes. You can bring this time even further down, to around a minute, by using shortcuts when drawing playing cards, but this is where the game decides you’ve taken it too far.

Once Inscryption notices that you’re playing exceedingly fast, a glitched graphic will appear on the screen, and then Leshy will tell you that you’ve made it “too far, too soon.” As his eyes turn red, he will summon two whole rows of super-strong grizzly bear cards as a means of punishing you for your impatience.

Geez! Someone's a sore loser!
