10 Video Games That Punished "Cheesing"

Resetti did warn you, to be fair.

For those who are worried that this title suggests multiple games include cheese in them for no apparent reason, it's worth clearing from the offset that "cheesing" basically means doing things in a cheap or unfair way.

Generally, this refers to outright cheating, as that's when people are mad enough to actually have a conversation about this kind of thing - whereas if it's something you do by yourself in a single player game, it's hard to care quite the same about the moral implications of it.

Unless you're one of the developers of said game, in which case you can find yourself nobly drawing up ways to prevent people from cheesing their way through your lovingly constructed creation.

And some are definitely less forgiving than others, designing frankly brutal methods to stop you at every turn - and to do something so cruel that any player who is on the receiving end makes sure to never repeat their mistake, lest they suffer another time.

If you find yourself on the wrong side of all this, you won't exactly leave with fond memories - but you'll definitely still remember it for a long time to come.
