10 Video Games That Punished "Cheesing"
9. Having Your Save File Erased - Banjo-Kazooie
The original form of Banjo-Kazooie is borderline ruthless when it comes to preventing players from cheesing their way through too much of the game.
This is because, throughout, you can enter codes that unlock certain levels - which is presumably added so that those who've already done most of or the majority of the game have a convenient way to get back to these later areas.
However, if you enter three or more of these codes, the game will decide to show you who's boss, by having villain Gruntilda in order to delete your save file. Yes, you read that right - the game then deletes your entire save file.
Maybe you should expect it, but having your whole save wiped is an absolutely wild concept - even if you are kind of warned about it by Bottles beforehand.
