10 Video Games That Start With The Final Boss
4. Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night
Castlevania is the castle of Count Dracula, so it'd be pretty unusual to venture in there and not run into him at some point, would it not? Well, fear not, for Symphony of the Night has you covered - not once, but twice.
Specifically, the game begins with a reprise of the ending of the previous game, Rondo of Blood. Here, Richter Belmont confronts Dracula in his throne room and defeats him pretty definitively. Or, so it seems.
The proper beginning of the Symphony of the Night story takes place four years later, when Dracula's son, Alucard, travels to his father's castle to investigate its sudden reappearance (and, at the same time, Richter's disappearance).
After discovering that Richter is now a puppet of Dracula's servant, Alucard rescues him and fights through an inverted version of Castlevania, in the centre of which is the Count himself, freshly resurrected and ready to give his son the boss battle of a lifetime.
Having defeated him already, you may think this time around is going to be even easier. Well, good luck with that.
