10 Video Games That Surprisingly No-Showed E3 2021
4. Perfect Dark
Last December at The Game Awards, Microsoft revealed that a reboot of the hit FPS franchise Perfect Dark was in the works, with their newly-founded studio The Initiative heading up development.
The reveal trailer didn't give much away, and many fans hoped they'd learn a little more about the game at E3 this year, but alas, it was nowhere to be seen.
This was perhaps a little less surprising than Hellblade II or Fable missing E3, given that word on the street has suggested Perfect Dark is in a far more embryonic stage of development than either of those games.
Given that The Initiative was formed three years ago, though, it's still surprising they didn't have even a mere snippet of gameplay to show, even accepting the obvious constraints the pandemic has placed on all development.
If it's also due to land in 2023 alongside Hellblade II and Fable as rumoured, though, then it makes a little more sense that we haven't seen more of it yet.
