While we don't know what form the next BioShock game will take, 2K Games confirmed in December 2019 that a new entry into the series was in development under new outfit Cloud Chamber.

According to Kotaku, the game has been in the works in various iterations since at least 2015.

Though in fairness 2K flat-out said the game would be in development "for the next several years," it wasn't out of the question for a slight reveal trailer to show up at this year's E3 event.

After all, given that BioShock Infinite came out all the way back in 2013, there's certainly value in building a lengthy hype campaign ahead of the new title's release.

But ultimately BioShock was totally absent from E3, and fans can only hope that development is far along enough that it could be unveiled by year's end.
