Like with their work on Astro Bot, Sony’s contributions towards VR cannot be understated. It’s true their headset is less powerful than PC equivalents but it removed one key barrier for players, affordability.
Each headset came bundled with Playstation VR Worlds, a set of five different experiences developed by SIE London and one of these was London Heist. An FPS game, you control a mobster tasked with stealing a diamond and was compatible with Playstation Move.
It received praise as the best experience in VR Worlds’ and, considering this; SIE London expanded London Heist into a full game, releasing Blood & Truth three years later.
It sees you playing Ryan Marks, a former Special Forces soldier trying to save his family from a London crime family. Described by Sony as a "love letter to classic cockney gangster movies", it released to positive reviews and became the first ever VR game to top the UK sales charts.
