10 Video Games Whose BEST Versions Are On Switch

5. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Devil May Cry 3
Nintendo

Donkey Kong Country Returns on the Wii went back to basics, replicating the gameplay of the Donkey Kong Country trilogy. Nintendo fans went bananas for the retro sequel and so, Retro Studios released the sequel, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on the follow-up system, the Wii U.

And when DKC: TP made the transition to the Switch, we received a more polished port with superior resolution and graphical improvements. However, Tropical Freeze's biggest bonus was Funky now served as a playable character. The laid-back surfer ape can take more damage, hover, and hold his breath infinitely, making him the most powerful Kong (as well as the coolest) by a long shot.

There are some games like Super Mario 3D Land with an Easy Mode that makes the gameplay so unchallenging, it feels patronising. Although Funky does take the edge off the difficulty, it doesn't feel like he's holding your hand throughout. In fact, players will appreciate using Funky in the later levels, which were originally criticised for being unfairly tough.

If you haven't played Tropical Freeze in a few years and are looking for an excuse for a revisit, purchasing it on the Switch is your best bet.
