10 Video Games Whose BEST Versions Are On Switch

6. Rocket League

Psyonix

Rocket League is a soccer game with rocket-powered cars. It sounds stupid but when you play it... okay, it's still stupid. But's it's way more fun than you'd imagine!

Psyonix's sport racing crossover premiered on the PS4 and Microsoft Windows back in 2015 but it wasn't long before it was adopted on other systems. When Rocket League transitioned to Switch, it was clear the resolution wasn't up to speed (pun intended). But after receiving a patch several months later, the gameplay was indistinguishable from the other ports.

But Nintendo wasn't done with bolstering the game. Soon after, the Switch version incorporated cross-platform compatibility. Surprisingly, Sony didn't embrace this feature until 2019. Because Nintendo has a reputation for being a bit behind with some technological advancements (such as when they stubbornly clung onto cartridge gaming on the N64), it was nice to see the company keeping up with new trends better than its competitors.

Nintendo's Rocket League also includes vehicles tinted in the colours of iconic Nintendo characters. Zooming around as a car with Mario's emblem emblazoned on the bonnet against an automobile inspired by Samus' ship helps gives the game its own identity and prevents it from coming across as another generic port.
