10 Video Games You Couldn't Make Yourself Finish

8. Watch Dogs

ALIEN ISOLATION
Ubisoft

Watch Dogs released in 2014 amid a colossal tidal wave of hype, and the overwhelming consensus from critics and players alike was that the open world action game simply fell short of all the buzz.

Was it a bad game? Absolutely not, but for all the noise that Ubisoft made about its innovative hacking mechanics and tech-infused open world, Watch Dogs is actually quite... boring.

The hacking gameplay is disappointingly repetitive and on-rails, while the story is thunderously uninteresting, unaided by one of the most staggeringly anodyne protagonists of any AAA video game - the dishwater-dull Aiden Pierce.

Once it became clear what the gameplay loop was - and it sure didn't take long - it wasn't exactly easy to keep going to the end, no matter that Watch Dogs' critical story only lasted around 20 hours.

When you're doing the same thing over and over again and you're controlling an all-timer charisma vacuum like Aiden, it's tough to sustain interest to the finish line.
