10 Video Games You Didn't Know JUST Got Delisted
7. Leisure Suit Larry Franchise
Though the sex-themed comedy series Leisure Suit Larry has fallen out of favour in recent years due to shifting player tastes, there's still a certain fondness and nostalgia for the classic IP, which as of 2011 had already sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
But back in May, publisher Assemble Entertainment announced that the original eight games in the series, released between 1987 and 2009, were being delisted from Steam.
This left behind only the two most recent games in the mainline series, both of which were developed by CrazyBunch, as available for sale on the platform.
As for why the games were removed? It seems to be a result of the ever-pesky expired licenses.
EA acquired the Leisure Suit Larry IP when it bought Codemasters in 2021, but given that EA is a massive, publicly traded company that probably fears harming its image by selling sex-themed video games, they likely have no interest at all in renewing that license - hence the delisting.
The games are still available on GOG for now, but it's just a matter of time before Larry vanishes from there too.
