10 Video Games You Didn't Realise Just Got Cancelled
6. Two Games From The Coalition
It's been quite reasonably assumed that Gears of War developer The Coalition is currently putting all their resources into Gears 6, but according to reliable insider Jeff Grubb, until very recently that wasn't quite the case.
Back in February, Grubb revealed that The Coalition was actually working on two other non-Gears games - one a much smaller project.
However, due to lay-offs at parent company Microsoft, which ended up causing redundancies at The Coalition, the games were both cancelled.
As a result, the developer is now in full development on Gears 6, which while surely good news for fans of the hit third-person shooter franchise, is unfortunate for anyone who wanted to see what a developer of such pedigree could do outside of their bread-and-butter IP.
After Hi-Fi Rush recently proved what gold can be spun when a AAA developer tackles a "AA" project, in the very least we'll hopefully eventually learn what these scrapped games were.
