10 Video Games You Didn't Realise Just Got Cancelled
7. LEGO Guardians Of The Galaxy
It's fair to say that more LEGO games enter some level of pre-production than we're ever likely to know about, and though last year it was revealed that TT Games cancelled a LEGO Disney game intended to celebrate Disney's 100-year anniversary, that's been far from the only casualty.
According to Nintendo Life, one of the more quietly-reported cancellations to occur around this time was a LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy game, which had been development for 18 months under the codename "Project Cosmic," and was set to feature fan favourite characters Nova and Adam Warlock.
Much as the branded LEGO games often blur together into a forgettable sludge, Guardians of the Galaxy does feel like an especially inspired choice for the LEGO treatment, given that they're an incredibly distinct team comprised of diverse and memorable characters.
And so, it's a shame that, of all the LEGO projects to get the developmental greenlight, this promising one had to get the chop.
Yet given the numerous projects canned at TT Games as of late - often after many years in development - it's clear that not even the most popular of IP are safe from being culled.
