10 Video Games You Didn't Realise Nobody Finished

9. Half-Life: Alyx

Arguably the biggest video game meme going, 2020's Half-Life: Alyx is still the closest the world has come to Gaben confirming Half-Life 3.

It's hard to think of a series that has somehow managed to generate more hype the longer the gap in the main series has gone on, but Valve were certainly able to tap into that hype prior to the release of Alyx.

Set in between the two main games from the series, Alyx was designed to finally put VR gaming on the map. In a homage to its Half-Life 2 roots, much was made of the gravity gloves players use to interact with the world, as well as the atmosphere and survivalist elements that made a return from games previous.

But whilst acclaim for all of these things was pretty universal on the whole following the game's release, it might be surprising to learn that Alyx saw a serious drop in completion rates for the series, with only around 5% of players have perfected the game and managed to make it all the way through.

Whilst the game's story takes around the same length of time as Half-Life 2, roughly fifteen hours in total, it's clear that those interested in following the story in full after so long were much happier following things online.
