10 Video Games You Play For HOURS Before Starting
3. Suikoden V
Now in fairness Suikoden V is a damn long game any way you slice it, and even on the lower end you're looking at around 50-60 hours to make it to the finish line.
Though there are debates about precisely what constitutes the game's prologue, you may not end up getting your castle until around the 15-hour mark, depending your pace of play.
This isn't to say that the preceding hours are boring or a waste of time, because they're absolutely not, but it's one hell of a hefty lead-in to the rest of the game, and players couldn't be blamed for wishing it were a little more concise getting to the point.
In terms of introducing players to this world and the characters therein, is it an effective prologue?
Absolutely, but the brutal lack of battles and wildly inconsistent pace also ensure few but the most die-hard of Suikoden fans will push through the game's opening quarter without some sighs and groans.
