10 Video Games You Play For HOURS Before Starting

4. Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus actually starts to feel like a video game about two hours in, after players have sat through one of the most excruciatingly overdone and maddeningly simplistic tutorials in the history of the medium. No exaggeration.

While it's clear that Game Freak wanted players of all ages and skill levels to be able to understand and enjoy the game - and that absolutely makes sense, artistically and commercially - would it have killed them to include an "I know this, let me skip the tutorial" option?

The first two hours of this thing feel less like a game than a laundry list, and make the prospect of a repeat playthrough legitimately anxiety-inducing.

Only once it's over will well-minted Pokémon fans actually feel like they're playing a Pokémon game here, for Christ.

Just... let people play how they want to play and give them options, yeah?
