10 Video Games You Won't Believe Got REJECTED
4. LMNO
Created by legendary director, Steven Spielberg, LMNO was said to be a more emotional attempt at narrative through the means of video games. It had players on the run with an alien named Eve who was trying to escape an organisation chasing her down. Most rumours of the game allege it to be in the more avant-garde, artsy realm of video games, with a heavy focus on interactivity. Spielberg specifically stated he wanted to create the type of product he felt the industry was lacking, presumably more akin to film.
This emphasis on interactivity made it possibly comparable to Heavy Rain or Life Is Strange. Considering it had Spielberg at the wheel, you know it wouldn’t be lacking in substance, similar to whatever venture Hideo Kojima wanted to dive into next.
Ultimately, publisher EA deemed it too ambitious. Imagine that: you get Spielberg on board to work on a game and and then shut him down.
