10 Ways Assassin’s Creed 2017 Could Be The Best Yet

3. Rely Less On Gadgets, More On The Assassin's Training

Over the years the assassin's tool belt has become covered with more gadgets than the utility belt worn by Adam West's Batman. There's a tool or weapon for nearly every occasion, and the vast majority are being made more powerful as the series wears on.

The trouble with this is that a lot of them are taking the panache out of the assassin's methods. In the original game, Altair had to rely much more heavily on his skills to succeed and survive against multiple foes. In this game his sword truly felt like a last resort when the stealthy approach failed, and that atmosphere was near-perfect for the series.

These days, however, the stealthy approach is most often pointless because the weapons and gadgets given to players make a head-on approach much quicker and often easier. You could say that prideful players would want to take the true assassin's approach regardless of this ease, but we all know that that's not what most will do.

Stripping back the gadget-reliance would recapture a lot of the series' early charm and help make the next instalment feel less like Skyrim-lite and more like a stealthy action game again.
