10 Ways Bioware Can Still Save Mass Effect

Nobody really wants Mass Effect to go away.

In case you're not keeping up, Bioware and the 'Mass Effect Andromeda Team' have recently announced they'll no longer be supporting the single-player portion of the game.

The news comes after an earlier statement from EA essentially saying the franchise was being put on hold thanks to the disastrous reception and quality of Andromeda in general, and now - only five months later - we've got an outright cancellation of any meaningful support.

Going forward, Andromeda will still receive "multiplayer updates" (yippee!), but the biggest blow comes from knowing the near-mythical Quarian Ark DLC is now not coming. Mentioned at the close of Andromeda's story, the game's narrative setup sequestered each respective race to a specific 'Ark' that would arrive in Andromeda 'somewhere down the line', yet the only acknowledgement this received in the cancellation statement, is that the quarians will now be discussed in spin-off comics and books.

It's all a bit... naff, but Mass Effect has come too far and means too damn much to too many people for one naff ending and a mediocre game to undo it all.

Legions of fans have N7 tattoos for christ sake, and as original Mass Effect lead Casey Hudson has returned to Bioware saying he "loves Mass Effect too much to not want to work on it in the future", there's hope yet.
