10 Ways To Make Assassin's Creed Work Again In 2017

4. Remove All Tailing Missions

It's not exactly clear why these mission types keep resurfacing in each AC game, but public opinion on them has remained consistent. In each game, Ubisoft uses these mission types to drop needed exposition and character development. Although the intent is obvious, this mission type needs to be removed and replaced with a concept fresh and new.

The biggest issue with tailing missions is less about having to memorize new information, and more about how that's ALL the mission is. No big combat section or even fun challenges, just learning information and then "Mission Accomplished". These missions are most certainly the least entertaining within the main campaign, and there should never be a purposely uninteresting scenario for the sake of exposition.

Replace these with more gang infiltration gameplay where overhearing important information can be possible only if the player remains as stealthy as possible. This rewards full stealth playthroughs, and also allows the concept of exposition drops to be optional to players who want it, as well as players who just want to assassinate some henchmen.

Players love playing as assassins, but they don't love playing eavesdroppers.
