10 Weirdest Unlockable Video Game Characters You Have To Get RIGHT NOW
7. Fred Durst - Fight Club
It's pretty standard for a popular movie to receive a video game tie-in. White Men Can't Jump, Little Nicky, and Nacho Libre don't exactly scream "video game," but each of these properties found their way onto consoles.
And as hard as it is to believe, David Fincher's Fight Club got adapted into a game for the PS2 and Xbox in 2004. It's surreal to see the thrilling story reworked into a brainless fighting title, considering the source material deals with nihilism, anti-consumerism, and societal emasculation, while the game just... focuses on guys fighting other guys.
Although the game's very existence sounds like a spoof, it's all the more head-scratching when you learn Fred Durst serves as an unlockable character. Despite also featuring in WWF Smackdown! and Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This At Home, seeing the nu-metal musician as a canonical character in the Fight Club universe is a level of absurdity nobody is ready for.
To the surprise of nobody, the game itself is mind-bogglingly terrible. And yet, you feel compelled to play it just so you can say you put the frontman of Limp Bizkit in a bare-knuckle brawl with Meat Loaf.
