10 Weirdest Video Game Levels We Can't Stop Thinking About

1. We Sing - Alan Wake 2 (2023)

Finnish developers Remedy Entertainment are no strangers to experimenting with the fantastically weird in their games. Alan Wake, for example, contained the bombastic stage fight whereas Control was home to the brain-bending Ashtray Maze sequence. However, the studio dialled up their love for the bizarre to new heights in Alan Wake 2.

Containing a tantalising mix of genres and live-action footage to weave a twisting survival horror tale, this long-awaited sequel is Remedy at the peak of their creativity. However, nothing in this game is as memorably bonkers as the We Sing level.

The fourth chapter in Alan’s plot line, this section is a full-blown interactive musical number that explores the eponymous writer’s past through an electrifying rock anthem performed by real-life Finnish band Poets Of The Fall. Complete with riotously campy dance moves, epic guitar riffs, and eye-widening visuals, this level delights throughout its entirety as it takes players on a tour of iconic locations from the previous game.

Concluding with a toe-tapping jazz number and a celebratory live-action dance routine featuring lead writer Sam Lake and the rest of the cast, this level proved to be just one of the many memorable moments from Remedy's latest masterpiece.
