10 Worst Launch Lineups In Gaming History

4. Xbox 360

Notable Launch Games: Perfect Dark Zero Condemned: Criminal Origins Kameo: Elements of Power Peter Jackson's King Kong Well, about the nicest thing you can say about the Xbox 360's launch is that at least so many of the initial consoles failed that many of their owners were spared of the horrible titles available for the system at that time. Ok, that may be a little harsh considering that the Xbox 360 launch did include the stellar Geometry Wars and the intriguing Condemned: Criminal Origins. But the big problem with the Xbox 360's launch was that many of its games were ports that were only noticeably more attractive than the previous generation if you owned an HDTV. Considering that this was 2006 and a lot of people could not yet afford an HDTV, this left many 360 owners wondering why the Xbox port they were playing on their brand new Xbox 360 still looked like an Xbox game. In fact, some titles like Peter Jackson's King Kong were so difficult to play in standard definition on the 360 that the developer recommended people play the Xbox version until they got things sorted out. Even if that particular issue wasn't present, the Xbox 360 would have still launched with one a generic lineup of games as well as the historically awful Perfect Dark Zero as its flagship release. The 360 would go on to feature one of the greatest game collections in history, but you wouldn't know it by looking at what the system launched with.
