10 Worst Unskippable Gaming Cutscenes You’ll See Hundreds Of Times

While the main entries in the Pokemon series are technically role-playing games, it is fair to say that the significance, and quality, of the stories contained in the franchise, has fluctuated wildly since the release of Red and Blue on the Gameboy. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing either, the focus of the games traditionally has been the catching and battling mechanics, and the series serves as a great introduction to RPG's, particularly for younger players.

It appears that Game Freak has taken this last point to heart a little too much though with recent entries in the series, with hand-holding so frequent it would certainly fall afoul of social distancing regulations in the current climate.

Perhaps the worst examples of this come in 2017's Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. The games include a litany of unskippable cutscenes that do little do advance the story and often are solely implemented to help understanding mechanics that players are likely already well accustomed to.
