10 Worst Unskippable Gaming Cutscenes You’ll See Hundreds Of Times
7. Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)
Though SEGA's iconic mascot has now managed to carve out space in the modern gaming landscape, for a while the switch from two to three dimensions seemed like it was going to be so tumultuous that the famous hedgehog may have never made it onto the current generation of consoles. 2006's Sonic the Hedgehog was derided by fans and critics alike, and with good reason, the game was being compared to the Super Mario series that has transitioned seamlessly.
One of the primary reason's Sonic the Hedgehog is so infuriating to playthrough is the unskippable cutscenes littered throughout the campaign, which, when combined with the lack of an autosave feature has likely left player pulling their hair out in total frustration on more than one occasion.
What makes things worse is the game's predecessor, Sonic Adventure on the SEGA Dreamcast has cutscenes that are notorious for being, well, terrible... And yet it appears the lessons went unlearned.
