10 Worst Video Game Sequels Of All Time

5. Resident Evil 6

The Resident Evil series has changed a lot throughout the years; the first three games had the fixed camera and awkward tank controls, before Capcom completely revitalised the series with the more fluid, action-orientated thrills of the fourth and fifth games. However, complaints had begun to surface by this point that the series had moved too far away from its survival horror thrills towards action, and this reached an all-time high with the sixth game. By this point, not only was the game devoid of scares, but it also just seemed like Capcom weren't putting in any effort anymore; though Resident Evil 6 was the first game to boast three arcs, none of them except Leon's are particularly enjoyable, because they've just lost the essence of Resident Evil. Zombie-like enemies now fire guns, the physics overall are ridiculously clunky, melee combat is too over-powered, and the storyline is as nonsensical as ever. It feels like a game that was rushed by another studio; the action is generic from start to finish, and there's also a huge range in quality between chapters, where some are lightly enjoyable, and several next to it might be overlong slogs. Resident Evil is not survival horror anymore; it's a mediocre third person shooter.
