2. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

Devil may cry peak of combat
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

After playing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for a few minutes, it's tough to believe (and tougher to accept) this live-service shooter was put together by the same company behind the god-tier Batman Arkham saga. Rather than trying to recapture the magic of the original series, it feels like RockSteady copied the current trend (ahem, Fortnite) and slathered everything about it on this DC property.

SS: KTJL is a perfect example of how bad gameplay can kill an IP, regardless of how good every other aspect is. Although the graphics, voice-acting, and concept are superb, the uncreative missions, sluggish skill progression, repetitive gunplay, and tired combat render this unsalvageable, no matter how many patches are thrown at it.

Just to prove the company hasn't learned anything, the first DLC contained next to no content or story. (So, why was it put out in the first place?) Adding insult to injury, the rewards in the downloadable content can only be unlocked through a frustrating amount of grinding.

The title "Suicide Squad" is quite fitting, since this omnishambles may spell the end for this once unstoppable franchise for good.
