Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard is basically what the collective world wishes Duke Nukem would do and just admit that he's a total washed up parody of a time gone by. Matt Hazard accepts that this is his fate from the off because he himself references that he's a washed up video game character who's desperately trying to make a comeback.

And get this, Matt is so unlikeble that even the development team wants him dead and has even gone so far as to delete his saves. It makes for a truly bizarre premise where the player is taking control of the game to help Hazard get published so we...can play his game. Man the meta is very strong her.

And so is the fourth wall breaking which never really gets more smashed than the game telling you that the developers themselves are the enemy, but it sure does try with Hazard pointing out every single possible point he can about level and enemy design. It's truly bizarre.
