100 Things You Never Knew About Resident Evil
90. The Movie Tie-In Game
Staying on the subject of the Resi movies, whilst Capcom never brought Milla Jovovich's Alice into the games there has at least been minor and major references. The famous laser corridor from the first film has appeared three times in the RE series - first in Resident Evil 4, again in The Umbrella Chronicles and then returning in the Separate Ways DLC of RE4's remake.
Beyond that the rogue AI from the same movie, The Red Queen, had it's name repurposed for an Umbrella supercomputer that's prime directive was protection of the company's assets from external and internal interference.
Whilst the inclusion of these elements might provide an eye-roll for people who don't appreciate Anderson's "wife-insert fanfiction" movies, at the very least they've never been adapted to a whole game.
There is one Resident Evil film that has though and that's the 2008 CGI flick Resident Evil Degeneration which was given a tie-in game for iOS that same year. It's based on the style of RE4 with over-the-shoulder aiming and broken into chapters, and only adapts the first 25-or-so minutes of the movie. Of course being a mobile game it's very bare bones but even so it's a fantastic little oddity in the franchise's long history.
