Remember 2012's all-singing, all-dancing revamp of Les Miserables?

FF XV Director Tetsuya Nomura certainly did, as according to an IGN chat, Nomura was "so moved by Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway’s lyrical take on Victor Hugo's novel, that he charged into the Square offices the next morning intent on transforming FF XV into a musical of Les Miserables’s caliber."

Naturally the team weren't that enthusiastic about scrapping what would've been six years of work on a whim, and Tetsuya was politely encouraged to rethink his idea.

Still, as we're labelling FF XV's ragtag bunch of leather-wearers a "boy band" anyway, it's weird to know a musical mentality wasn't too far off the director's intentions at one point.
