4. There Was A Version Of The In-Game Car Made For 50 Million Yen

Thanks to the forever-increasing costs of development over the years, Square promptly realised they were going to need a number of tie-ins and sponsorship deals to ensure the FF XV name gets out as wide as possible.

To that end, they partnered with Audi to create the 'Regalia'; a fictional car that's based on Audi's own R8 model. Granted there have been some creative licenses taken in-game (like it being able to fly), but the base framework is an actual supercar.

Going one step further, Square commissioned the creation of one real-life version of the Regalia (again, sans flying but with fancier wheel trims and other customisations) for a cool 50,000,000 yen, or around $470,000, which was given away to a prize winner in the run-up to release.
