11 Reasons Lost Legacy Is Better Than Uncharted 4
6. Treating Locations With The Cultural Respect They Deserve
One of the best parts of Chloe and Nadine's dynamic, is the latter isn't a treasure-hunter. And it's here where Naughty Dog have found something we didn't even know was missing - an 'audience character'.
Usually resigned to fiction and the need for a 'newcomer' to have the world and story explained to them (think Luke asking all the questions in Star Wars), here we get Chloe happily breaking down pieces of cultural history and the meaning behind various gods and landmarks to Nadine. All the while she's taking it in, asking questions and repeating some parts back to Chloe at a later date, but the purpose is fantastic - it lets the player have that 'history lesson', too.
Despite Uncharted 4 spending its time jetting between all manner of locales, the story and action was either so important that we couldn't take a breath, or as both Nate and Sam were already 'in the know', there was no need to educate outside of one-upping each other.
Obviously the games shouldn't make a point of stopping the action to bust out the Powerpoint presentations, but there was a sense of subtly 'taking in a culture' also prevalent across the early Assassin's Creeds, that's handled very effectively in Lost Legacy.
