11 Upcoming Video Games That Might Be The PS4's Killer App

6. Level 5's New Game

Release Date: Probably 2016. The Buzz: Level 5 are best known for developing Professor Layton for Nintendo DS and 3DS, as well as the White Knight Chronicles series, and their magnificent Studio Ghibli game Ni No Kuni, which proved to be one of the PS3's very best games. The developer has confirmed that they're working on a new RPG for PS4 right now, though haven't confirmed if it's another White Knight game or perhaps a sequel to Ni No Kuni. All that's known is that it will boast a larger scale than their previous games and be revealed at E3 this June. Why It Might Be The Killer App: Because Ni No Kuni in particular was a masterful experience, and if Level 5 decide to take on a more epic and accessible RPG title, they could very well deliver one of the most enticing original IPs of the current gaming generation. Why It Might Not Be: Their games to date have all been pretty niche affairs, so if it's a sequel to one of the aforementioned titles, it probably won't do much to break out beyond its fanbase. If Level 5 sets their sights on something a little more mainstream, though, it could be the game to beat and even put the likes of Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III to shame.
