11 Video Games You Won't Believe Are Almost 20 Years Old
7. Rayman
Today he's the Mario-rivalling crown-botherer that's reinvigorating 2D platforming in ways even the little plumber couldn't think of, and back in 1995 the limbless wonder still managed to rally together a pretty sizeable following. One of the most recognisable standout heroes and 'faces' of gaming throughout the 90's, he never quite got to the heights of Mario, Sonic or Crash. But following a string of 2D and 3D games, Ubisoft's latest works that see him return to gorgeously animated worlds has given us two solid instalments in both Rayman: Origins and Legends. With Ubisoft's 'Ubi Art' engine appearing to be able to render everything from Child of Light's gorgeous pastel aesthetic to Valiant Hearts' more emboldened blockier look, here's to Rayman seeing even greater variation when it comes to the mix of worlds he'll surely visit on his first proper next-gen title.
