12 Anticipated Video Games Still To Come In 2017
5. Star Fox 2
One of the most pleasant blasts from the past in years, the once-cancelled Star Fox 2 is finally seeing an official release inside the SNES Classic Mini on Sept. 29th, some 22 years after an initial cancellation.
Although I'm personally embargoed to not tell you very much, Star Fox 2 was way ahead of its time. Seeing quality of life improvements like better ship handling and an aiming cursor onscreen at all times, gameplay actually takes place across a huge galaxy map where you pick and choose which missions to 'drop' into; the goal being to stem the tide of another Andross invasion.
Brilliantly, Nintendo pushed the SNES to its absolute limits with primitive 3D technology, letting you transform the iconic Arwings into 'Walkers'; bipedal tanks that can then be used to strafe and blast apart various enemies.
Together this gives everything a really great feeling of duality, as across all mission types you dogfight, take out high-value targets, destroy enemy encampments and plenty more.
