12 Best Video Game Comebacks Of All Time
7. Crash Bandicoot - Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy
Everyone's favourite jort-clad, box-breaking, most likely mentally ill marsupial. Which made his gradual decline over the years any less disheartening.
As was the case with Spyro, the Crash series seemed to get worse and worse over the years after its original developer, Naughty Dog, relinquished rights to the character. Crash Bash was a thoroughly average party game. Wrath of Cortex was an alright effort by Traveller's Tales, although it felt like someone following a recipe without the correct measurements.
Following that, we got a couple of decent Game Boy Advance games. However, Twinsanity and Crash of the Titans were both glitchy messes. Finally, following Mind Over Mutant, it seemed like Crash had maybe overstayed his welcome and went on a lengthy hiatus.
Until E3 2016. Crash was welcomed back with open arms. It was announced that the original three games would be remade from the ground up, and when the N. Sane Trilogy was released in 2017 it was a roaring success.
Not only was it hugely successful, beloved by fans and marked the comeback of an icon, it can also be argued that it's thanks to the N. Sane Trilogy's success that we now have a slew of beloved games being remade for today's generation.
God bless you, Crash, even if you do choose to wear jorts.
