12 Fantastic Video Games You Must Play Over Summer 2015

3. Invisible Inc.

Following XCOM's re-honing of the turn-based strategy formula back in 2012, it seemed to inspire a new generation of developers to take that base template and run with it. I've already mentioned Massive Chalice earlier, but a far more unique use of this genre's style of combat is to shy away from confrontation altogether. "That sounds a bit strange" you may be thinking, and it is - until you see it all in motion. See, developers Klei Entertainment are one of the finest in the business right now. They're the guys that brought you Shank and Mark of the Ninja, and with Invisible Inc. they're turning their hand to turn-based espionage, meaning you'll deploy a team of specialist agents into the field, before alternating with multiple enemies to achieve various goals. You'll set traps, place agents round corners to spring ambushes, take out cameras for pre-determined amounts of turns, hide bodies - the whole stealth shebang. The great thing is, you're also adhering to the XCOM formula, so that means any agents who die in the field stay dead, only certain items transfer over, and all-round the difficulty will take your head off from the next room if you're not scouting ahead properly. The most unique take on stealth there's been since, well, Mark of the Ninja? You bet.
