Another gorgeous little 2D platformer (of sorts), Ubisoft's art department were on a roll throughout 2014, with both this and Child of Light coming out to raucous reviews in the face of their bigger-budget brethren falling apart. Telling the story of three disparate souls spread across the borders of World War 1, UbiArt employ a really cool, light-hearted animation technique that occasionally relies on slapstick comedy to move the levels along, but always treats the subject matter with the care and attention it deserves. To delve into the plot itself would be to rob you of one of the richest narrative experiences of the decade so far, but sufficed to say you'll come out the other end of this knowing far more about the plights of certain soldier platoons you'd never even considered, and a game you'll want tell as many people about as possible.
