12 Most Anticipated Nintendo Switch Games - Ranked
1. Metroid Prime 4
Two words, one number. That was all it took to make the millions around the world sit up and take notice.
Yes, after a solid decade without any well-received entries in one of Nintendo's most beloved franchises (Other M all but ruined Samus as a character and Federation Force made many of us wretch), FINALLY we're getting another entry in the Prime canon. Hopefully this time round we'll see motion controls either ditched or left as a menu option, as although 2007's Corruption was a solid enough game, it did suffer from twitchy Wiimote aiming in more frantic situations.
Story-wise, it's going to be very interesting to see how Nintendo handle Samus. Other M reduced her to a boring, monotone, subordinate shell of her former self, and whilst Metroid 3 had a secret ending involving antagonist Sylux still chasing her down, is Prime 4 more of the same half-silent badass we know and love, or does any of Other M's influence carry over?
Right now it's clear this is in the most formative of planning stages, but Metroid is one of the most consistently high-reviewed franchises of them all, and I can't wait to see more.
